Fall Maintenance Tips

Roof & Gutters

    • Check your roof for any broken or missing shingles and repair or replace shingles as needed
    • Clean gutters and downspouts by clearing out any clogs that can cause water blockages, such as  leaves, branches, sand, shingle debris, or weeds. Running a hose through the gutters will reveal if there are any clogs
    • Repair any damaged gutter sections, and when rain gutters cannot be repaired, especially in the case with older gutters, it is a better to completely remove the rain gutter.
    • If you notice any roof leaks, dampened walls, cracked foundation, and/or damaged landscaping near your home, you may have issues with your roof and/or rain gutter system that require a professional inspection
    • Replace rain gutters, as needed, and consider installing gutter protectors to prevent debris from collecting
    • Check all water drains and downspouts around your home to be sure proper water drainage away from your house
